Emirates Airlines picked up the Outstanding Food Service by a Carrier Middle East 2008 prize at the PAX International Magazine Readership Awards.

The Dubai-based carrier, which operates New York flights, Los Angeles flights, and San Francisco and Houston flights to the United Arab Emirates, won the award after being voted for by members of worldwide travel industry.

Bob Ferguson, senior vice-president of Aircraft Catering at the carrier, said: "Emirates is honored to be recognized by our customers with such a prestigious award.

"Pax International Magazine Readership Awards have long been the benchmark for excellence within the travel catering industry and we are pleased that the industry, and [more] importantly, our customers have recognized our efforts to provide the best possible in-flight catering."
